PARADE Welcome Back Letter!

Dear PARADE Families,

We hope you have been enjoying your summer break and the beautiful weather we have been having!  Teachers and staff are looking forward to seeing you again in a few weeks!

We wanted to let you know of some changes that have happened over the last couple of months.  As many of you know, Mrs. Schutte has retired from her teaching position at PARADE. We are excited to have Mr. Allen step in to teach photography, and for Mrs. Roper to shepherd the 5th/6th grade classes this year. It’s an exciting new era!

As we begin the school year, here are some happenings to have on your calendar:

1.       Welcome Back Event, September 4: Come and meet our staff and new students and families and join in the excitement of the new school year. We are looking forward to beginning our school year with a Welcome Back event in-person on September 4 at 9 a.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room, followed by a High School Welcome Back event at 11 a.m. in the Science Room. Please join us to tie-die t-shirts for our field trips this year!

2.       Conference Week, September 3 to 6: Every PARADE student and family will meet with their conferencing teacher prior to the start of school to create the Written Student Learning Plan (WSLP) for the school year and set some

academic goals. This is also a good time to change your student’s schedule if necessary.

You can sign up for a Zoom OR In Person conference with your conferencing teacher here:  https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/RiverviewLearningCenter@rsd407.org/bookings/

3.       Schedules: Student schedules will be available in Qmlativ this week.  If you have misplaced your login information, please contact Kris Rodger for access.  Schedule changes must be made with your conferencing teacher during conferences.   The teacher will coordinate the change with Mrs. Rodger.

4.       Supplies and School Calendar: A suggested supply list and PARADE School Calendar are attached to this email.

5.       Parent Library Materials: Materials are available for checkout beginning in September.  You can come browse the library between 9 and 3 p.m.

We are really looking forward to meeting you and getting started on our school year. Teachers officially begin working on August 30th. If you have questions, please e-mail your conferencing teacher and they will get back to you as they begin.

Warmly,

The PARADE Staff
